Modification of roadbed soil by crushed glass wastes

چکیده
This study aims to use the crushed glass obtained from waste flasks improve properties of weak roadbed soil. The included crushing and powdering flasks. Afterward, was sieved separated into three classes depending on particle size: class A contains particles with diameter less than 4.75 mm more 1.18 mm, B 0.08 C mm. For each these classes, 6 different contents were mixed a soil their influences its engineering properties. To attain this objective, four laboratory tests applied: California Bearing Ratio (CBR), which determines bearing value swelling ratio, triaxial compression test under cyclic loading, resilient modulus (MR), Oedometer test, compressibility coefficients (Cc Cr). results showed that increasing content enhances tightness reduces volume changeability. Nevertheless, highest enhancement compared other two classes. Compared original soil, CBR values (MR) samples 18% increased 8 times 4 respectively. In addition, Cc, Cr reduced 53%, 50%, 35%

Leaching of Gold and Silver from Crushed Au-Ag Wastes
Au-Ag noble metal wastes represent a wide range of waste types and forms with various ballast elements and components. The thiourea process of gold and silver extraction from ores, concentrates or secondary raw materials consists of gold and silver leaching into the thiourea solution and the consequent precipitation of these metals from the solution. Due to the non-toxic character of thiourea i...
متن کاملRecycled crushed glass in road work applications.
A comprehensive suite of geotechnical laboratory tests was undertaken on samples of recycled crushed glass produced in Victoria, Australia. Three types of recycled glass sources were tested being coarse, medium and fine sized glass. Laboratory testing results indicated that medium and fine sized recycled glass sources exhibit geotechnical behavior similar to natural aggregates. Coarse recycled ...
متن کاملProduction and Crystallization Behavior of an Iron Rich Glass–Ceramic Prepared by Ironmaking and Steelmaking Wastes
Using wastes as starting raw materials is a common method to reduce the production costs and the environmental pollution problems arising from such wastes. In this study the production and crystallization behavior of an iron rich glass prepared by iron and steel making wastes has been investigated. The raw materials used, were the blast furnace slag, the blast furnace dust, converter slag and s...
متن کاملApplication of Recycled Glass - Crushed Rock Blends in Road Pavements
Recycled glass is a mixture of different coloured glass particles with debris. It is the result of crushing the waste glass collected from residential and industrial areas. Construction and Demolition (C&D) materials such as concrete, excavation stone (basalt) and brick make up a significant proportion of the waste materials present in landfills in Australia. Substituting the quarry produced cr...
